Hario Pour Over

The concept behind the pour over consists of hot water being poured over a bed of coffee grounds. The water is constantly flowing through the coffee grounds for continual extraction. There are many types of pour overs on the market. Cloth or paper filters can be used depending on your taste preference.

Aero Press

The Aeropress is a single-cup device that has been lauded for its travel uses. It’s compact, makes coffee quickly, and has even spurned the creation of world championships in its name. The Aeropress comes with a paper filter, but metal filters are also sold if you prefer a deeper taste to your coffee.

French Press

Using a French Press is an easy way to get truly excellent coffee at home. The key to getting good results is using freshly-roasted beans and grinding them correctly. Make sure to clean the press and use filtered water. We recommend timing the process. French Presses are available in glass, plastic and stainless steel models.

Clever Coffee Dripper

The Clever uses the same concept as the French press, but incorporates a filter for easy clean up. Because the grounds are still in full contact with water during the entire brew time, this brew still has the full body that many French press lovers enjoy. Adding the filter removes the grittiness some dislike.

Immersion

In this style of brewing, ground coffee is fully immersed in hot water for all or most of the brew, and then filtered at the end (think steeping tea). The previously mentioned French Press is full immersion. Full immersion tends to produce good body and depth to the cup, and is consistent and easy.

Drip

Drip brewing, or filtered coffee, is a method which involves pouring water over roasted, ground coffee beans contained in a filter, creating the beverage called coffee. Water seeps through the ground coffee, absorbing its oils and essences, solely under gravity, then passes through the bottom of the filter.
